Pass the hurl to somebody else and tell them to start at step 1, but don't forget to sign it first.

This may be your teammate, at the end of a match to your opposition, to your local ice hockey or baseball or lacrosse team, your boss, your workmate, at your local pub to the barman, anybody you think would be interested in hurling.

WHAT THE MISSION FOR THIS?

This hurl has made its journey from Belfast and was presented to the captains of Philadelphia Hurling and Camogie Club at the USGAA Finals 2018. This hurl will be signed by each club throughout the year. and will be auctioned off for charity at the USGAA Finals 2019 in Virginia.

Our aim is to get this hurl in as many hands as possible as a symbolic move to show how we are spreading the sport from one person to the next. Think of it as like a baton being passed in a sprint relay race. We’re symbolizing us spreading our games in North America.

The hope for this hurl is to travel from experienced player, to new player, to those who never heard of it before.

We are on one mission: to get more people playing hurling.

How far can this hurl travel within North America?

Things to avoid:

  • Make sure the hurl is given to somebody who will pass it on. We want this hurl to travel to as many people as possible and to be constantly in motion. Avoid giving it to somebody who won’t participate in this.
